I am confused. A woman was shot and killed by Capitol Police as she was breaking a window and climbing into the Capitol Building and the government is paying her family $5 Million of taxpayer money? If someone is breaking into my house and I shoot them, will I have to pay their family? This is ludicrous!!!! She was obviously breaking the law and damaging government property and was showing violence, so why should taxpayers pay her family to reward them for her criminal, violent bahavior?
I get that there are those who do not believe the riot was not an attempt to overthrow the election. I, personally, do not understand how anyone could logically come to that conclusion, but that's just my own opinion. But, that being said, there is no other way to interpret someone breaking a window and climbing into the Capitol Building as anything but a violent act that was clearly illegal! I daresay that those people who are claiming she was not breaking the law would call the police to have someone arrested if they caught them breaking a window and climbing into their house! They would probably shoot the person and kill them, as well. And I don't believe anyone who would say they wouldn't do one or the other or both.
I am not making any statement about the cause of the riot. I am simply talking about the actions of those who were involved in the riot. And it was a riot. There's no other way to describe it. The people who perpetrated the riots in L.A. did the exact same things as the people did at the Capitol Building on 6 January 2021. And no one disputes that the L.A. riots were a riot. You can't have it one way for one thing and another way for another thing just because you feel that the election was stolen. It doesn't matter what the people involved believed or felt, it matters what they did. And what they did was clearly a violation of the law.
And I can guarantee that if it had happened with Biden voters, or Obama voters, those who are now crying foul over the Trump voters breaking into the Capitol would be calling for their arrests, convictions, sentencing and possibly even demanding the death penalty. The truth of the matter is that those people created a riot, broke into the Capitol, damaged property and killed a police officer. Their reasons for doing what they did does not excuse their illegal actions, their violence or their destruction.
Why are there two separate laws for political parties in this country? Why are there politicians advocating violence against members of the opposing party? These things, these calls for violence, are evil. They may be perpetrated under the name of good, but they aren't good. Violence, destruction of property and murder are evil.
I cannot believe that a civilized society would even think of paying people for being arrested after they destroyed the Capitol Building, destroyed personal property of politicians in the Capitol Building while illegally entering said building with violent intentions. It is time for people to take a breath and think with their spirit instead of with their mind and their political persuasion. God does not condone violence like what was seen in Washington, D.C. on 6 January 2021. I keep hearing people who say they are Believers talking about spiritual warfare while advocating physical violence. Read your Bible: our fight is not against flesh and blood. A spiritual war is not against flesh and blood. We are not called to destroy personal property, government property and violently attack people. We are called to get on our knees and fight the evil spirits that are trying to take control of our lives. We fight on our knees, not with swords or guns. Our weapons are scripture, not bullets and clubs.
Jesus is the Prince of Peace, not the prince of war.
