Protests, Police Shootings & Police Defunding

In 2019 there were 25 incidents of police shooting unarmed white suspects in the United States. There were 14 incidents of police shooting unarmed black suspects during the same period. Of course, we only had riots and protests surrounding a few of those shootings while most we've never even known about.

In fact, the vast majority of police shootings of unarmed suspects barely get local news coverage, much less national or international news coverage. One of those that did was the shooting of Brandon Webber in Memphis. Now, I would like anyone out there to tell me what led to the shooting of Mr. Webber. Any one?

We hear the family and friends screaming how many of these victims are innocent, good boys who were targeted by police for no reason. What the national media did not report about 20-year-old Brandon Webber was the U.S. Marshall's Service was on the way to a house owned by one of Webber's family members in order to arrest him on numerous outstanding warrants when he exited the house and got into a vehicle which he used to ram Marshall's vehicle numerous times before jumping out of the vehicle brandishing a firearm which he pointed at the Marshalls.

What type of "innocent, good boy" has so many outstanding arrest warrents at the age of 20 that it requires not the local police or even the state police to attempt arresting him but the U.S. Marshall's Service? I have personally known quite a few "innocent, good boys" and none of them have ever had a single warrant for their arrest, much less multiples!

But, let's get to the point: ANY LIFE taken needlessly, and especially by law enforcement is a tragedy and a violation of rights and should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Yet, of the 39 cases of law enforcement shootings of unarmed suspects mentioned above, where are the outcries for the truly innocent? How many were truly innocent? Yet, most of the violent protests I've heard about over the last few years, the victims were not unarmed! They were not innocent! They were caught in the midst of trying to commit crimes!! And somehow those are the ones that are getting the national attention. Why?

We need to figure out what is wrong with these scenarios before we start staging protests and demanding defunding of police departments. What happens when police are defunded? I'll tell you: anarchy! It will literally be the wild, wild west times 10,000!! If you think crime is bad now, just wait til your community police are defunded! Then you'll see crime!
